Are heel sores a problem for your patients?

A friend had a family member suffering from heel sores.  He mentioned to me that he thought Heel Shields might help heal and even prevent heel sores.  After listening to his account, I  have tried sleeping in and wearing heel shields for hours at a time.  I have found that the heel shields are comfortable enough to wear for several hours at a time (last time I wore this one for six hours).

HPIM0636As you can see by this picture, the heel shield does not come in contact with the heel of the foot providing an airway to take pressure of the heel and promote healing of the heel sores.  HPIM0637In this picture with both feet on the floor, you can see that the heel shield is sturdy and can hold up under some pressure (the person in this picture actually weights more than 125 pounds).

And this last picture is just another view of the heel shield,  In order to introduce heel shields to this market, we are giving away heel shield samples. If you own a nursing home or other facility that has a need for this type of product and are interested in obtaining heel shields for your patients – please contact us for more information on how to obtain heel shields at info@theheelshield.com.

Cutouts shoes can be really hot!

Everywhere you look there are cutouts.  Cut out shoes, cut out jeans, cut out dress, cut out tops.  Why do we all love cutouts so so much.  Men love them because they provide just enough skin to keep the imagination working.  Women love them because they keep the men looking.  And, we love them because they look so good.  So, we continue to get new cut out tops, dresses, jeans and SHOES

Michael Kors Cutout Pump 735

Pictured here is the Michael Kors addition to the cutout craze.  If you have ever owned a pair of cutout shoes or sandals, you know that one of the problems with this type of shoe is the way the straps work around the baby or pinky toe.  If the straps aren’t placed just right, the pinky toe finds its way out of the straps and is pinched  when you move your feet – very uncomfortable.  This is such an uncomfortable problem that the shoes probably find their way into the trash  after only a few wearings.

Well, it looks like Mr. Kors added extra straps where the pinky toe fits in the shoe to help keep that toe in place and the shoes comfortable to wear.  Thanks Mr. Kors.  This beauty costs over $700, so you need to be sure and wear your heel shield when you drive in this shoe.  Not only will you damage the leather, but you will have funny dirt lines on your feet. May as well spend the measly little $15.99 and save your $700 shoe.

This shoe belongs to Vanessa Rossington and it is really HOT!!! Vanessa Rossingtons Photo A really Hot example of the cutout shoe!  Thanks for letting me use this picture Vanessa!

FAVORITE Shoes for 2009 and some boots

Shoe Designers have taken shoes to a level that I think was unexpected.  and, 2009 was the year for Shoes. Sex and the City may have had something to do with kicking off the shoe craze.   Prior to Sex and the City I was a Stuart Weitzman devotee and satisfied.Manolo Blahnik OTK  Then Manolo Blahnik burst on the scene – AND Jimmy Choo became a household name.  Christian Louboutin has taken it to another level.  Shoes are super fun and super high.  But as The Shoe Gal stated, “height doesn’t matter with a well-made shoe.

Christian Louboutin opened his first shop in Paris in 1992, and Manolo Blahnik’s first shop has been on the scene since 1972 and Jimmy Choo in 1996, and it seems the shoe frenzy started in the new century.  I know I am Tardy to the Party, but I am there now AND WOW!

Dior had  Dior Drape Front Bootie several shoes that had fabulous gold stilettoDior Red Serpent Pump heels.

Giuseppe Zanotti wonGiuseppe Zanotti OTK Grey Embossed Croc the Designer of the Year Award  for 2009 and here is his OTK boot in gray suede

Each pair of shoes on this page costs over $500 and none of them came with a Heel Shield which I think is a shame. Heel Shields are a good companion for suede, delicate leather  and light colored shoes.  Driver’s Black Heel on any of these shoes would be a shame and so easily prevented.

Is Christian Louboutin really doing a ‘men’s shoe line?’

I couldn’t believe that my brother hadn’t heard of Christian Louboutin.  So when I mentioned Christian Louboutin to him, he went online and found a video about him on the Neiman Marcus website.  In that video Christian Louboutin is recorded saying he had no plans to design a men’s line – his focus was on women’s shoes.

So is it true that Christian Louboutin is now actually doing a men’s shoe line.  Here is a sample of a shoe I saw on the web that is reportedly designed by Christian Louboutin – doesn’t look like his design style – WHAT DO YOU THINK?

There were also two pair of high top ‘tennies’ one in black and one in white (with the same stud details) – also purported styles for Christian Louboutin  Men’s for 2010.

Christian Louboutin High Top with Studs

None of these shoes look like Christian Louboutin’s to me.  Now this pair of shoes that I saw Steve Harvey in would look more like what I would expect Christian Louboutin to design.  And, by the way, this shoe has a red sole and three gold bars in front of the heel. Hate I couldn’t get a picture of the bottom to show.  SteveHarveyBlueSuedeShoes  So what do you think, which shoe looks like a Christian Louboutin design to you?
